Harris - Mussi “50 / 50” Matthew Harris and Cleo Mussi have worked in parallel and close proximity for twenty-five years. Both originally training in textiles at Goldsmiths College, their work shares a common language that involves the construction of whole images from pieces and fragments of cloth, paper and reclaimed ceramic. This recent body of work, based on a trip to Japan continues their independent exploration of material and process.

This November is a busy month with two weekends of exhibitions 'Sustain' at The Landsdown Centre, Stroud GL5 1BN on the 18th & 19th from 10.00am-5.00pm, and 20th 11.00am-4.00pm. The following weekend at 'Frogmarsh Mill', South Woodchester GL5 5ES. on the 26th & 27th from 10.00am -5.00pm. At both events there will be a varied selection of work including basketry , ceramics Jewellery and textiles and I am always struck when I exhibit in Stroud that there is such a rewarding and an appreciative audience. Stroud is also full of amazing talents and to just pitch up down the road with makers who exhibit nationally and who create a diverse range of hand made and beautifully crafted artisan pieces is extraordinary

Every year I take part In The Mellerstain House 'Summer Show' in Berwickshire. If you live or are visiting the Borders, this estate is worth a days trip to take in the exhibition, the house and the grounds . Sunday 3rd July -Sunday 25th September

I will be playing around and enjoying making small affordable wall pieces incorporating bunches of flowers, birds, hearts, hands and ‘Tussie Mussie’ posies . All that is fresh and green and positive. I will be at Bovey Tracey Craft Fair in Devon on 10th-12th June, but simultaneously I will have work in The Open Studios at Frogmarsh Mill in Woodchester, Gloucestershire on 11th and 12th June and then be available at Frogmarsh with my work on 18th -19th June .

The studio is in our garden, so you can also see my other creative passion -lets hope the sun shines on 7th and 8th May

Alexander Caminada has taken a series of atmospheric photographs of the artists in their studios and an exhbition of his work can be seen at Ecotricity from May 3rd-20th 8.30am-5pm-www.caminada.co.uk

I have been invited by the Scottish Gallery along with 47 other makers to create a small box 20cm X 20cm for “Collect”, the Annual international Applied Arts event at The Saatchi Gallery in May .
